Name: Pash Nair

Age: 29

Address: Johannesburg, South Africa

Occupation: Account Manager

Interests: Travel, food and football

1. How long has it been since you supported Liverpool FC?

I have been a Liverpool supporter as long as I can remember, probably since I was 5 years old so 24 years and counting.

2. How did you become a Liverpool fan?

My dad followed Liverpool since the glory days of the 80’s. So I recall watching the likes of John Barnes and Ian Rush growing up. I forced my dad to buy me my first jersey when I was 5 years old and that Candy jersey has now  been signed by 19 LFC legends is still a prized possession of mine. I’ve been a die hard fan ever since.

3. Who is your favorite Liverpool legend and why?

Growing up, Robbie Fowler really was “god”, his presence and goal scoring ability made him my favourite. Lol, I even wore nasal strips and pretended to be him when playing football.

Steven Gerrard though, is the epitome of a legend, he is everything that is right with the sport and I don’t think anyone would disagree. The perfect role model.

4. Who is your current favorite player in the team?

So far Emre Can has really stood out for me, I hope he remains with us and establishes himself as a club legend.

5. Which one player do you suggest the Liverpool board to buy for the next season and why?

I think Alex Song would be a great buy, he seems to have been playing forever and comes with a lot of experience at the highest level even though he is just 27. He has previously voiced his respect for Steven Gerrard and Liverpool and I think with Stevie’s departure Song would be a great fit.

6. Given the chance to watch Liverpool play at Anfield, which opponent would you choose and why?

It would have to be Everton, the Merseyside derby always comes with added emotion and passion. A must for any Liverpool fan.

7. Which new signing in Liverpool are you most happy with in the current season?

Emre Can. Recent displays have shown a maturity well beyond his tender age of 21. His versatility, composure and confidence makes it hard to not be excited by him, I expect great things from him.

8. Your favorite Liverpool match that you watched live?
It would have to be home to Newcastle in 07-08, an outstanding performance which saw us win 3-0 with goals from Gerrard, Torres and Pennant

9. Your favorite Liverpool goal?
Luis Suarez running circles around Manchester United’s defense to supply Dirk Kuyt with a tap in.

10. What’s your expectation for Liverpool this season?

I expect a strong run to the end of the season in the league, which will see us qualify for Europe. I also see us getting to a final, either FA Cup or Europa, fingers crossed for a trophy.

11. What’s the most memorable thing that you have done as a Liverpool fan?

I’ve watched us play Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final at the bridge, met Robbie Fowler and John Barnes, had a drink with Patrick Berger and dinner with John Aldridge whom my dad cooked a chicken curry for when he was in South Africa. I’m part of the South African supporters club and I’ve recently visited the official supporters clubs in India and Thailand for matches, but the most memorable would have to be singing You’ll Never Walk Alone in Anfield.

12. Your message to other Liverpool fans.

Wherever I have travelled I have always made friends through football and my love for Liverpool is shared with millions around the globe. It is the greatest family on earth. Don’t ever give up believing.

Hi Khutso, hope to see your dreams come true soon. We are in no position to assist anybody with any immigration issue, because that’s not what we do! But, if you play really good, why don’t you upload a video demonstrating your skills on YouTube? If your skills are good, we can at least share your video through our Facebook page. YNWA.
