ASPAS SET TO RETURN TO CELTA VIGO
The Spanish striker Iago Aspas, who had signed for Liverpool from Celta Vigo only a couple of seasons ago, is all set to return to the club for next season. Aspas had been loaned to Sevilla FC for the last season, with a mandatory signing clause, which meant that Sevilla would have to acquire the player after the end of the current term. However, Sevilla reached a deal on Friday with Celta Vigo to loan the player after he is bought by the current UEFA Europa League holders in July 1.
Aspas was signed by Liverpool in a fee believed to be around the range of £7, just before the start of the 2013/14. However, the striker hardly got any chance to play for the club, making only 14 appearances, the majority of which were last minute substitutions.
The 27-year old had a fair season with Sevilla where he scored 10 goals in 19 appearances. However, Sevilla decided not to add the player’s tenure beyond the current season, where it’s believed that the player will make a permanent switch to Celta Vigo at the start of the 2016/17 season.
