BRAD SMITH’S EXIT CONFIRMED
22-year old Brad Smith has become the latest player to exit the Liverpool squad after the defender was signed in by Bournemouth. The deal comes just days after Smith and Sakho were sent back by the club management to England halfway through their US tour. The Australian youngster was reported signed by Bournemouth for a reported fee of £3m.
Talking to reporters after the deal, Smith said: “I’m really looking forward to the opportunity here.
“It all happened quite quickly. I knew there was a bit of interest and then they put the bid in, Liverpool accepted and we went from there really.
“I flew to America and was there for about five days. Once I found out that the bid had been accepted, I stopped training with the team to make sure everything went the right way.”
Smith will join the Bournemouth squad along with former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Ibe, who only recently was signed by the club.
Smith wasn’t a particularly regular member of the Liverpool team squad, with him making only 7 first team appearances in the last 3 years with the club. The player was loaned to Swindon town in 2014 and made 7 appearances for the team. Smith has also made 9 appearances for the Australian National team.
