HONDURAS 1 – 2 ECUADOR
This was never really expected to be a very good game. Two average sides, fighting for points in their group as they attempt to come in second place to France (who have gotten 6 points from their two games in the group stage).
Despite that, we would see a spectacular 20 yard goal from Carlo Costly which may be called “GOAL OF THE TOURNAMENT” (by Honduran fans at least) even if it wasn’t to be a winning goal or help Honduras gain any more points. It was scored in the 31st minute but only 3 minutes later, Enner Valencia would stage the Ecuador comeback, almost single-handedly.
In the 34th minute, Enner Valencia would score the first of his two goals and Ecuador went in at half time drawing 1-1. Enner’s second half goal would claim all three points for Ecuador who climb their group table, as France lead in 1st place.
KEY PLAYERS: Honduras man Carlo Costly will be talked about for years by Hondurans after his amazing 20 yard goal which opened the scoring in the game.
Enner Valencia has scored in two consecutive Ecuador games now. He’s looking to be a valuable asset for his country and may just be up there contending for the Golden Boot award (most goals score in the World Cup) with the other star high-scorers if he gets a chance to score more in the knockout stages.

I’m an Englishman (born and raised in Liverpool in the 80s). My whole family, including my parents and grandparents were Liverpool fans so I was born into being a red. I’ve seen Liverpool win the league (about 25 years ago) and I’ve been 100% loyal and committed while supporting the Reds through all the good times AND the bad times since the 80s.
I’m a die hard Liverpool fan (only supported ONE club in my whole life, Liverpool) and one of the most dedicated fans you’ll ever meet.
