Liverpool and QPR Agree £8.5m Fee for Remy
Loic Remy will be wearing the coveted Red jersey next season, after Liverpool agreed to pay Queens Park Rangers (QPR) £8.5m for the French striker. Remy will be Liverpool’s fifth signing of the busy transfer season.
While QPR didn’t look like it will be handing the striker to Anfield so easily, Liverpool managed to get hold of the player after activating his release clause.
Last season, Remy played for Newcastle United, where he was sent on loan after QPR were relegated from the Premier League in 2012-2013 season. While at St. James Park, the player managed to score 14 goals for the Magpies.
The striker also featured for Les Blues in the recently held FIFA World Cup 2014, where his team managed to reach the quarter finals, losing to eventual champions Germany.
The signing of Remy will definitely provide more firepower to the Liverpool squad, who are all set to play in Europe next season. It’s expected that the player will complete all formalities before the squad starts its International Champions Cup campaign in USA.
Remy was certainly an integral member of the Newcastle squad and all Kopites certainly expect him to continue his good run with the Reds too.
Personally, I have a feeling that Remy will be a shining star in the Liverpool squad in the coming seasons. I am certainly behind Rodgers and his choices of players for this season. REMY, WELCOME to the ANFIELD FAMILY. YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE!
