The outward transfers of defender Martin Skrtel and midfielder Jordon Ibe were officially confirmed by Liverpool FC on Thursday. Skrtel has made the switch to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, while Ibe signed a long-term deal with last year’s Premier League entrants AFC Bournemouth for the fees of £5 million and £15 million respectively.

After spending 9 season with Liverpool FC, Skrtel was recognized by fans as one of the most regular members of the squad. The Slovakia captain, also had one of the best scoring records in Europe for a defender, with 18 goals in 6 seasons, including 7 PL goals in the 2013/14 season when Liverpool finished second in the League. However, with the competition increasingly growing for the place in the squad, the Slovak could only make 22 appearances last season under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Meanwhile, England U-21 international Ibe had been hailed as one of the most promising young talents in the Liverpool squad. The player made a total of 58 appearance for the Reds, scoring 4 goals in the process. Ultimately Ibe decided to seek his future at Bournemouth in search of more regular football.

With the sale of the duo, a total of nine players have exited the Liverpool squad this season, while three players have entered the team.
