The first leg will be held at Villarreal’s homeground Estadio El Madrigal on the 28th of April, while the second leg will be held at Anfield on the 5th of May. Villarreal qualified for the semis after defeating Czech club Sparta Prague with an impressive aggregate score of 6-3. Meanwhile, two time defending champions Sevilla FC will face Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk in the other set of semis.

It will also be the first occasion where the two clubs have faced each other in a European fixture. Judging by the recent form, Villarreal do seem to have the slight edge, with the Eastern Spanish club currently sitting at fourth spot in the Spanish League table.
