LIVERPOOL TO MEET ARCH-RIVALS MANCHESTER UNITED IN UEL PRE-QUARTERS
Liverpool FC will have to get the better of Manchester United in order to progress to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League as per the draw announced at Nyon today. The first leg will be played at Anfield on March 10, while the second leg will be played at Old Trafford on March 17.
The two clubs have met on two occasions this season, with Manchester United coming out victorious in both fixtures. Yet, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hinted that they were absolutely ready to face their Premier League rivals in the tournament. “Now life gives us the chance to make it better, so that’s what we do,” he said. “It’s not easy, but you can ask my staff, they asked me yesterday ‘who do you want?’ I said ‘Man United’,” added Klopp.
The draw also means that it will be the first time the two arch-rivals will meet in a European fixture.
