REUS TO LIVERPOOL?
I HEREBY DECLARE that I couldn’t care less if Marco Reus signs for Liverpool. In my opinion, he is VERY OVERRATED by football fans around the world, but I have seen a very large amount of people talking about his transfer to Liverpool. They’re DESPERATE to sign him. You know what? I don’t think some of the fans who have been obsessively talking about his potential transfer have even seen him play. He has only ever played (on a domestic level) for German clubs in the Bundesliga and unless you’ve been watching the German League closely, you won’t have seen Reus play for a club.
Can you even name the clubs he’s played for? Don’t bother guessing a random famous German club. I bet you’d probably say (the famous) Bayern Munich first, but he never played for them… I’ll save you some embarrassment and list his previous clubs.

As you can see, his scoring record is pretty good (he’s proven he can score once in every two games on average) but you seriously would need to closely follow the German Bundesliga to have seen him play and score for any of these clubs. They’re not the kind of teams you will have a chance to watch with any regularity.
Maybe if you followed a team that was in a Champions League group with one of them and your team played competitive European fixtures against one of his clubs, you’d have seen him once or twice… but I still doubt that was how the fans that constantly talk about him saw him and became obsessed with his potential transfer to Liverpool FC.
Reus’ part in the World Cup was almost non-existent, due to him injuring his ankle in a “warm up” game against Armenia just before the first group game would begin. So it’s not like people got a sense of how good he is from watching the tournament in Brazil. Those “warm up games” were not televised, I am pretty sure. Only the group games and the knockout games in the Finals got major coverage.
To have seen Reus play at all, for club or country will have been difficult – especially for Liverpool fans (I‘m only really talking about reds fans who desperately want Reus to sign after all). If you haven’t seen him play, WHY bother getting all excited about the fact that there was a (small) possibility he could sign for Liverpool?
I’ve really never seen this amount of interest in bringing one player to Liverpool in a long time – even for players that actually WERE likely to transfer to us and that we even made bids on. I have multiple reports from reliable sources that say Liverpool have no interest in Reus and will NOT be making any bids for him. Meanwhile, the rest of you are going insane by creating false rumours about how Reus has joined Liverpool already or will be soon be a Liverpool player and constantly asking on a daily basis about when he’ll be arriving in Liverpool (like he had a purpose being here except NO BIDS have even been made, so he won’t be hopping on the plane to Liverpool to complete his transfer or a pass a medical any time soon) but I am calmly waiting for the person who would fill the role that Reus would fill (if he actually was to be a Liverpool player).
The main reason for all the hype over Reus is most likely to be the departure of Luis Suarez. Ever since he agreed terms with Barcelona and transferred out to Spain, people have been very desperate to find a new striker that will be a “replacement” for the controversial Uruguayan who scored over 30 goals for Liverpool last season. I can assure you, we are looking for a new lead goalscorer – Liverpool have several strikers on our transfer target list. There just isn’t anyone called Marco Reus on that list, unfortunately (for all his fans). I hope you can just accept this and look forward to who we do sign to become our best new goalscorer. I’m still excited to see who that will be and what will happen in the games they play in.
The current Transfer window will be closing on midnight of August 31st (or 12AM of September 1st, basically) so until then… if you could all calm down and wait for our new signings to be announced with some patience, that’d be great. There’s no need to go nuts for a player that has no chance of actually signing for us.
YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE, reds.

I’m an Englishman (born and raised in Liverpool in the 80s). My whole family including my parents and grandparents were Liverpool fans so i was born into being a red.
I’ve seen Liverpool win the league (about 25 years ago) and I’ve been 100% loyal and committed while supporting the Reds through all the good times AND the bad times since the 80s.
I’m a die hard Liverpool fan (only supported ONE club in my whole life, Liverpool) and one of the most dedicated fans you’ll ever meet.
