Salah Signs For The Reds
It was in 2014, when Egyptian Winger Mohamed Salah was first linked with the Reds. After 3 years though, Salah has finally signed for Liverpool FC.
Liverpool’s record-breaking signing
The deal between Liverpool and Salah’s former Italian employers AS Roma, is thought to be valued around the region of £36.9m, with the possibility of reaching a value of £43.9m, subject to the player’s performances and achievements with the club. This deal thus surpasses the £35 million paid by Liverpool to acquire former Newcastle United strker Andy Carroll. The player will be wearing the 11 number jersey for the club next season.
Following the deal the 25-year-old midfielder appeared at Liverpool’s official TV channel to express his delight. He said, “I’m very excited to be here. I’m very happy. I will give 100% and give everything for the club. I really want to win something for this club.”
A proven talent
Liverpool is the sixth club that Salah will be representing, which also includes FC Basel, Chelsea, Fiorentina and Roma. However, last season proved to be Salah’s most successful ever, where the player was directly involved in 21 goals for the Roma (15 goals and 6 assists), bettering his previous season’s contribution of 14 goals for the club. The player also has had an illustrious career in the Egyptian National Football Team, with 29 goals from 53 appearances.
Klopp very hopeful about Salah
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also expressed his excitement after the deal. “His record in Italy has been outstanding and he possesses qualities that will enhance our team and squad. His pace is incredible, he gives us more attacking threat and we are already strong in this area.”
