WARRIOR OUT, NEW BALANCE IN
Liverpool have announced a record breaking £300million kit deal with New Balance today. While the deal can’t be considered entirely a new one, as the owners of Warrior and New Balance are the same, yet an extension was signed in the deal as well, which will see Liverpool wear and sell kits with the logo of New Balance for the next five years. The new deal is the biggest kit deal Liverpool have ever made their history.
‘We are thrilled to announce this partnership with one of the world’s leading sportswear brands, which is a record-breaking deal for the club,’ Liverpool’s chief commercial officer Billy Hogan said after the deal. Liverpool kits will now be available for sale in more than 500 official New Balance outlets globally.
The new deal will certainly help a lot in increasing the spending ability of Liverpool, some of which will hopefully be spent in acquiring world class talents to the team.
Other teams that are currently sponsored by Warrior including FC Porto, Sevilla and Stoke City FC will also be sporting New Balance kits from next season.
Liverpool have been sponsored by several renowned kit manufacturers in the past, including Adidas, Reebok and Umbro.
Personally, I liked the kits with the Warrior logo. However, let’s hope the new kits will prove to be lucky for us next season.
