After announcing six impressive signings, it looks like Liverpool are now shifting their focus towards the future as well. Today, the club announced that two acquisitions have been completed by the club, including former Barcelona U-16 player Bobby Adekanye and the highly rated American striker Brooks Lennon.

Adekanye arrived from Barca on a free transfer while Brooks is also reportedly in the process of completing the procedures in the next few days. Adekanye is reportedly a highly rated young midfielder who was acquired by Barcelona from PSV at the age of 12. However, when Barca was handed a transfer ban last year following the discovery that the club used ‘unfair tactics’ in hiring academy players, several players from Barcelona were affected. It also included Adekanye who was again loaned to PSV by the Catalans. While the Nigeria-born player was still sought after by several clubs, including Barcelona, the Reds successfully managed to convince the player to commit his future at Melwood and Anfield. The young midfielder has also represented the Netherlands U-16 team.

Meanwhile, Lennon also was one of the most sought-after young players in the world, after his impressive display at MLS side Real Salt Lake, where he managed to score 31 goals last season. Lennon is reportedly applying for Irish citizenship, which is expected to make the legal proceedings easier for the youngster to complete his deal for the Reds. Brooks trained in Liverpool and two other clubs in Europe last season, including Sporting Lisbon and Aston Villa.
